When my nephew Oliver was just 3 years old, I started writing a series of short stories for him. The first started from a conversation with him at my mum's house in the Blue Mountains one day when he was bored and needed something to do. I pointed to a crow in the tree, and asked him what the crow would say to him if it could talk.
That first story - Oliver and the glass of red cordial - became popular with some of our neighbourhood friends - and a mate ended up animating it for the Jaffas Down the Aisle Short Film Festival.
I wrote several other stories, which I'll republish on this site in the future.
They included:
Oliver and the Case of Oranges
Oliver and the day the beach disappeared
Oliver and One little Elephant.
One of these days, we might put those short stories into a compilation book. It's on the list.
